What are some ways to save money around the house?

Cat asked:

I am trying to save as much money as I can. What are some things I can do to save a little money?
I already know to unplug stuff when not in use. Keep heat down to like 68. Save all the change in a piggy bank.. What are some other ideas?

    Reuse as much as you can (i.e. wash plastic bags instead of throwing them away); buy compact fluorescent light bulbs to replace incandescents; unplug not only unused appliances, but also those transformers that recharge appliances, sicne they also use current even when they are not used; clip coupons; keep your thermostat set to 65-68 degrees in winter, 70-72 degrees in summer; buy clear plastic heat shrink window film to cover your windows; caulk your windows and doors, and make sure all the seals around your doors are good;

    Go through the house and set all items aside that you have not used in the last year. Put them up for sale on eBay. Put the money in the bank.
